in your bones, which are considered the source of jing, or vital energy, in traditional Chinese medicine.
Healthy Bones, Happy Body is a half-day workshop that will provide you with the tools and understanding you need to ensure vibrant bone health.
Through hands-on cooking classes, practical theory, and simple postures and movements, you will experience improved flow of energy from this core structure of the body. Topics covered in this workshop include:
- the best foods to eat for enduring bone strength
- what bone-damaging foods to avoid
- postures that "load up" the bones to increase density
- simple daily movements for strengthening bones
- easy, nutrient-dense recipes for vital bones

About the Instructors
Driven by her passion for reconnecting students with nourishing, life-giving foods, Ronna has led a variety of community classes and group educational programs. An active member of Healthy Yancey, her hands-on approach empowers individuals to take charge of their health through simple, creative food choices. Mother to 5 and 7 year-old boys, Ronna is currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Nutrition through the University of Bridgeport.
A movement teacher for more than 10 years, Kert is an advanced student in Eva Wong's system of Daoist Qigong and holds instructor certification in Sheng Zhen Qigong. In spring 2011, he completed a 6-month tai chi training program in the Wudang mountains of central China. A former project manager and corporate trainer, Kert's classes are fun, inspiring, and engaging to learners of all ages and skill levels.
